VIRTUAL WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS – APPLICATION DIGITAL TOOLS AND APPS IN SCIENCE

As part of the Erasmus+ project “Digital Powered Teaching” a virtual workshop was held on April 7th at 18:30 CET, organized by Scoala Gimnaziala “Constantin Parfene”, Vaslui, Romania.

The workshop brought together teachers from partner schools in Romania, Greece, Croatia and Cyprus, with the aim of developing digital skills in a wider group of educators to make Science teaching more engaging for students.

Workshop topic:

The session focused on integrating digital tools into Science, emphasizing:

  • Story Jumper (https://www.storyjumper.com) is an interactive digital platform designed for the creation and publication of illustrated stories by students and teachers, encouraging creativity and communication skills, improving literacy skills, and engaging students in meaningful learning experiences across all subjects.
  • Livresq (https://livresq.com) is a versatile digital platform specifically designed to help educators create interactive lessons and engaging educational resources. Its user-friendly interface and collaborative features make it an excellent choice for teachers looking to enhance their teaching methods and improve student engagement.

Workshop objectives:

Teaching Skill Enhancement: Educators were provided with the expertise to design captivating lessons utilizing StoryJumper and Livresq.

Curriculum Design: Presentations illustrated how these applications could improve lesson plans / teaching units.

Engaging Learning Experiences: Creative techniques were introduced to involve students in Science subjects.

Evaluation Tools: Interactive assessment approaches using the showcased platforms were emphasized.

Session Highlights:

  • Introducing the functionalities and features of StoryJumper and Livresq.
  • Showing teachers how to incorporate these tools into their lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Training teachers on how to use the apps for formative assessment purposes, allowing them to assess student understanding through the content created.
  • Improving teachers’ digital skills and confidence in using educational technology.

The session successfully strengthened teaching techniques and laid a foundation for integrating innovative, digital methods into Erasmus+ student mobility workshops.

Following the training, evaluation questionnaires were distributed and certificates of participation were issued to all participants.
